SIMOTEC® Insulators for Overhead Lines
Safety, economy and reliability throughout the world for decades
Numerous tests, also under adverse environmental conditions, have proven the high level of safety and reliability of our products. The excellent breaking strength makes these products very resistant to vandalism, meaning no disruption of power supply and, thus, no loss of business.
In addition, the reduced weight of these products also results in lower construction expenditure for towers and less costs for foundations, shipping and installation. Costs for maintenance and cleaning due to salt fog and air pollution are eliminated completely, as layers of pollution on the surface do not have an influence on the excellent insulating properties of the insulators.
With standardized types and sizes of our acid resistant epoxy resin rods of varying lengths for coating with silicone we can provide optimized, tailor-made solutions for nearly any application, on schedule and with short delivery times. The more demanding your requirements, the more you can take advantage of our experience and competence in the field of power generation and distribution.
- High-quality production standards
Every SIMOTEC® long-rod insulator consists of an acid-resistant ECR glass-fiber-reinforced epoxy rod. A precise and computer-aided procedure for compressing the fittings onto the rod ensures durable connection of the hot dip galvanized armatures and the ECR glass-fiber rod. Cleaning the rods in the ultrasonic bath ensures a clean rod surface. A primer that is applied prior to the molding vulcanization process ensures durable chemical bonding of the rod, the fittings and the silicone. The silicone is then molded in one procedure, sealing the point of contact to the armatures. Additional protection rings ensure mechanical sealing. Crevice corrosion caused by ingress of foreign matter is therefore precluded.
- Typical applications
- Long Rod Insulator for 400 kV
