Dr. Georg Weyer, CEO

Dr. Georg Weyer

Dr. Georg Weyer has been CEO of Argillon GmbH since 1 February 2006. He is responsible for the worldwide activities of the Bavarian company in the business fields of Catalytic Converters, Insulators, Piezo Products and Alumina.

Born in the Rhineland, he completed his studies in engineering at the Technical University of Aachen (RWTH Aachen). In 1987 he obtained a PhD at the Institute for Plastics Processing (IKV) in Aachen and began his industrial career in the roller bearing industry at SKF in Schweinfurt. Following different management positions in development and production at this company, he left in 1993 to become technical director of Draftex, in Viersen, where he was initially responsible for reorganising the German sites and the internationalisation process of the group. In 1996, as Vice President Operations, he additionally received responsibility for strategic development and positioning of Draftex group in the global automotive supply market.

In 1999 Weyer moved to Dynamit Nobel Kunststoff GmbH. As managing director he was initially responsible for sales, development and production.
From 2001, as CEO and board member at Dynamit Nobel AG he was responsible for both the overall business field and globalisation of the company.

Dr. Georg Weyer was born in Cologne in 1957. He is married and has three children.


Tim Ley, CFO

In mid April 2006 Tim Ley joined the management of Argillon GmbH. The 50 year-old is responsible for worldwide commercial activity: controlling, IT and procurement, together with the alumina and Piezo product fields.

Following studies in business administration at Free University of Berlin and Cologne University, Tim Ley began his career in 1985 as a commercial clerk at BASF AG in Ludwigshafen. Before his move to Redwitz he was active in the position of financial director at a number of companies, including Dynamit Nobel AG and Spar Handels AG.

Tim Ley was born in Wuppertal in 1956. He is married and has four children. In addition to his German native language, he also speaks fluent English, Spanish and French.
